TotalEnergies’ Nigerian operating unit opened an oil condition monitoring laboratory called LubAnac in Lagos.

LubAnac will be able to analyze engine oils, hydraulic fluids and industrial lubricants to check for wear metals, contaminants and oil degradation. The data retrieved from the analysis will help customers reduce equipment failure by ensuring the correct lubrication regime.

The system benchmarks measured values against an internally developed algorithm, refined through years of experience and feedback from OEMs, and compares them with statistical references based on historical data for each component type.

On the other side of the world in the Philippines, the French energy major pulled out of all of its business activities after 25 years on the archipelago.

The company has disbursed its downstream oil business to Filoil Philippines Corp., including fuel and lubricants retail outlets.
