Fuchs Spain has increased production capacity by 25% at the company’s Castellbisbal plant in Catalonia. The increase is a response to growing demand driven by new markets and a larger presence in aftermarket sales.

Lubricant demand in the country reached 345,00 metric tons in 2025, up from 341,900 tons in 2023 and from 332,000 tons in 2022, according to the Madrid-based Aselube, Spain’s lubricants association. The general demand trend since the peak in 2007 has been gradually declining.

The company announced last year an investment of €11 million on improvements to the production center, labs and headquarters in Spain.

The investment also included a new automatic and robotized packaging line to supply the aftermarket segment with 1- and 5-liter containers tailored for this type of production.

The company has seen turnover rise to €81 million in 2024 from €62 million in 2021 to, and the company expects €90 million by year end.
