December 4, 2024Fuchs Group completed the acquisition of the Swiss industrial lubricant company Strub. In Sepetmber, the company signed a letter of intent to absorb the century-old family-run firm.
Changing Positions: Kloster at BASF
December 4, 2024Lots of chairs moving around in Europe in November, with some of the big companies filling positions across their businesses. In Germany, Thomas Kloster is now president of the petrochemicals division at the behemoth BASF. He’ll take charge of the petrochemicals division in Ludwigshafen at the start of 2025. In his place will go Lena Adam, senior vice president of fuel and lubricant solutions.

December 4, 2024Two state-owned Indonesian companies – cement manufacturer PT Semen Indonesia and PT Pertamina Lubricants – have developed the country’s first domestically produced open gear lubricant. This development is part of a broader strategy to reduce dependency on imported products.
Swiss specialty chemicals company Clariant’s additives portfolio is now fully PFAS-free. Exposure to some per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, known as PFAS, may be harmful to humans and animals. There are thousands of PFAS chemicals in many consumer and industrial products.
