Shell Group III Unit Gets Electric Heater

British oil major Shell’s plans to convert a hydrocracker at its Wesseling, Germany, refinery into a production unit for API Group III base oil now include the installation of an electric low-emission tubular heater supplied by French furnace supplier Axens.

Petromaca Builds Rerefinery in Venezuela

Venezuelan petrochemical and environmental management company Petromaca’s rerefinery is the latest used lubricant recycling project to spring up in South America. More than 900,000 metric tons of oil is used in vehicles and ships in Venezuela per year.
