Rising cost of sales forced National Refinery Ltd, Pakistan’s only base oil refiner, to announce losses of Rs 15.79 billion (U.S. $56.64 billion) during the fiscal year ending June 30. The news caused the company's stock price to fall by almost 4.6% to a low of Rs 218 per share.

Fuchs Posts Higher Earnings

Fuchs SE’s reported a 9% increase in profits for the first half of 2024 despite a 3% drop in sales revenue that it blamed mostly on exchange rate fluctuation.

Exxon Bullish on Oil

ExxonMobil thinks global oil consumption will remain steady until 2050 and that the transition to renewable energy will not dampen demand for fossil fuels. It also warned of energy price shocks if investor turned their backs fossil fuel extraction. Exxon’s prediction runs counter to the International Energy Agency and competitors BP.
