Chevron to Make Group III for Neste

Chevron announced it has agreed for its Richmond, California, base oil plant to begin making API Group III oils that Finnish refiner Neste Corp. will market under its Nexbase brand name.

EPA Proposes Ban of Lube Additive

The United States Environmental Protection Agency proposed Friday to ban the use of 2,4,6-Tris(tert-butyl)phenol as a lubricant additive on grounds that it is toxic to aquatic plants and animals and likely causes liver damage in humans.

Oil Change Sales on the Rise

Sales by oil change and lubrication shops in the United States reached $6.3 billion in 2018, up 4 percent from 2017, according to a report jointly published by the Auto Care Association and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association.

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Take 5 Oil Change announced its acquisition of Advance Kwik Lube, which operates 25 locations in Texas.  Parkland USA, a lubricants distributor and subsidiary of Parkland Fuel Corp., announced David S. Jardine will serve as its chief financial officer, Dan Dunstan as vice president of retail and John Jardine as vice president of lubricants and specialty products.
