Organizations involved in the development of North American engine oil specifications have expressed concerns about European plans to use several engine tests in the upcoming ACEA 2018 Oil Sequences, warning that dual use could sap testing resources and shorten the lives of the oil categories.
Average retail prices for synthetic motor oils in this years fourth quarter were up slightly from a year earlier and were substantially lower at the largest big box retailer, compared to the top five automotive parts stores, according to the latest Retail Lubricant Price Tracker data from Petroleum Trends International.
Valvoline reported increased operating income, Clean Harbors Safety-Kleen segment posted higher revenues, HollyFrontiers lubricants and special products segment reported lower income from operations and Quaker Chemicals net income increased, for the quarter ending Sept. 30.
