Avatar Corp. is nearly tripling the size of its lubricant and specialty release agent manufacturing facilities in University Park, Ill., with a $5 million project that will add 64,000 square feet of production, warehouse and logistical space and 8,300 square feet of offices.
Scheduled for completion in February, the expansion reaffirms our commitment to the University Park plant, President and CEO Michael Shamie said. We anticipate the creation of 20 new jobs from this expansion. This investment will facilitate our continued growth over the next three to five years.
Avatar is a bulk pharmaceutical chemical manufacturer, specializing inrelease agents and lubricants for the food and drug industries. The University Park plant was commissioned in 1998 and is regulated by the FDA. The new building will attach to the existing 40,000 sq. ft.structure.
