RelaDyne acquired lubricant distributors in Oklahoma and Indiana and recently secured $75 million in financing to support its continued growth.

One of the acquisitions, Fentress Oil Co., has facilities in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Ada in Oklahoma, making it contiguous with RelaDynes Gulf Coast region, which includes Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. According to Fentress website, it distributes Shell, Valvoline, Mystik, Mach4, Citgo, Petro-Canada and Air BP brand lubricants, along with fuels and related products, to industrial and commercial end users as well as consumer outlets. It has been an independent lubricants distributor since its founding in 1930.

Former owners Si Fentress and Randy Perry will remain with the company, as will the sales and operations team. Fentress will operate as a new hub for RelaDyne with former owner Perry as the branch manager going forward.

Jeff Hart, Reladynes executive vice president of business development, noted in a news release that Fentress is strategically located in a market that is new territory for us. RelaDyne brings the necessary components to fuel significant growth for Fentress in Oklahoma. These components include capital, technology, resources, scale and enhanced customer offerings.

The company also acquired the business of Greg Wright Supply in northern Indiana to close the geography gap between the Chicago/northwest Indiana and Indianapolis markets.

Blue Ash, Ohio-based RelaDyne closed on $75 million in financing with U.S. Bank earlier in the month to support the companys continued growth. U.S. Bank said it worked closely with RelaDynes leadership team to ensure the financing supports near- and long-term growth initiatives.

Backed by private equity firm AEA Investors LP, four distributors in the U.S. Midwest and GulfCoast regions – Mid-Town Petroleum Inc. (Bridgeview, Ill.), Oil Distributing Co. (Cincinnati, Ohio), The Hurt Co. (Houston) and Pumpelly Oil Co. (Suphur, La.). – joined in 2010 to form RelaDyne, primarily offering lubricants and diesel exhaust fluids along with services to improve equipment reliability.
