Heartland Automotive Services, the largest U.S. Jiffy Lube franchisee, will relocate its corporate office from Omaha, Neb., to Dallas before the end of this year.

Efficient accessibility to all markets was a key factor in the decision to relocate the corporate office to the Dallas area with the [Dallas Fort Worth] airport located minutes from the office complex, Alan Barrington, Heartland vice president of human resources, told Lube Report. The Dallas area is also well suited to meet the needs of the future company expansion plans.

The corporate headquarters has approximately 55 employees. We recognize the tremendous knowledge and experience in our current group of corporate office personnel, and we want them to relocate with us, Heartland CEO Brett Ponton said in a July 1 announcement. The companys central division office will remain in Omaha, where it operates 18 Jiffy Lube stores and has additional plans to expand.

Heartland Automotive Services and its affiliates in January 2008 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization, emerging in February 2009. The corporate headquarters move is unrelated to the bankruptcy issues, Barrington asserted.

With 400 quick lube locations across 17 markets in 20 states, Heartland Automotive employs more than 3,500 people. The company was formed in 1995 when five independent Jiffy Lube franchisees in St. Louis, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Austin and Omaha joined forces, initially with 66 stores total.
