H&W Adds Chevron Brands

Chevron Products Co. and H&W Petroleum Co. have inked their second multi-year lubricants marketing agreement, under which H&W will add Chevron-brand lubricants to its portfolio, which already includes Texaco brands.

A wholly-owned subsidiary of SMF Energy Corp., Houston-based H&W Petroleum claims to be one of the largest lubricant distributors in the U.S with over one million gallons of bulk product storage.

H&W markets a full line of petroleum products including Texaco and Tex brand lubricants, metalworking fluids, fuels, diesel fuel, kerosene, gasoline, solvents, chemicals, cleaners, oil safe containers and waste oil services. Its distribution area includes all areas of Texas, including Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, Lufkin, Longview, Tyler and Freeport.

The lubricant marketer deal comes after Chevron Global Lubricants North America announced in early June that it was combining the Chevron and Texaco commercial and industrial lubricant brands under the Chevron master brand name. That merger, however, excluded its consumer products such as the Texaco Havoline product line, which continues to be marketed through its Texaco Xpress Lube network and other marketing channels.

Chevrons general manager for North American finished lubricants Vince Kyle told Lube Report then that it saw the change as a benefit to its distributors. It opens up for them the ability to sell the strongest and best products in our portfolio.

And it appears that Chevrons prediction has come to fruition. SMF President and CEO Richard Gathright said, Chevrons single-branded product line allows us to provide a single-source solution for our customers. We will be able to leverage the strength of both brands in specific applications and offer a more inclusive product line.

Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., SMF provides petroleum product distribution services, transportation logistics and emergency response services to the trucking, manufacturing, construction, shipping, utility, energy, chemical, telecommunication and government services industry in California and the southern United States.
