Renkert Taps Jackson

Calling it the start of a major expansion, Michael S. Renkert, president of Renkert Oil LLC, announced that Gerald Jackson is joining the base oil trading firm as vice president of sales and marketing on Oct. 1, following Jacksons retirement this week from Motiva Enterprises. Michael Lewis will replace Jackson as general manager for base oils at Motiva.

This is a major step, Renkert told Lube Report. Weve never had a sales manager before. And I anticipate additional steps within the next six months. Renkert said he expects the 20-year old firm to go into new markets, and he plans to hire additional staff in coming months.

We are traders. We take possession of the oil and resell it, Renkert said. We look for niches, often smaller accounts, although some are quite large. Renkert Oils major product lines include paraffinic base oils and process oils, and, under an agreement with Chevron, distribution of ParaLux-branded oils. The company maintains tanks in Houston, Chicago and Antwerp, Belgium.

We are very excited to have Gerry Jackson join our group, said Renkert. Jackson will have an office in The Woodlands, Texas.

Michael Lewis, whose 17 years experience includes running a base oil plant in Deer Park, Texas, for Shell, will succeed Jackson as base oil general manager at Motiva. Lewis is currently executive director in Motivas Corporate Center. Lube Report was unable to reach Lewis for comment yesterday; he was reportedly participating in an out-of-state training program.
