Posted prices for paraffinic base oils were unchanged again this week, but observers suggested upward pressure may be developing due to rising costs for crude oil.

The price of crude on the New York Mercantile Exchange closed yesterday at $66.19 per barrel, according to Bloomberg. That was 22 cents higher than the price a week earlier and nearly $4 above the level two weeks ago.
