Gulf Petrochem,of the United Arab Emirates, teamed with Indian engineering firmKirloskar Oil Engines Ltd. to expand marketing of its K-Oil diesel engine oils in parts of the Middle East and Africa. General Electric agreed to a three-year deal to recommend Shells Mysella lubricants as the preferred oil for its Jenbacher Type 4 and Type 6 gas engines worldwide. Japanese oil giant Idemitsu Kosan Co.s U.S. subsidiary opened its first North American research and development center, a $2.4 million 13,000 square foot facility in Wixom, Michigan. Safety Plus Ltd. will distribute Hexols lubricants in Cyprus.
