Nynas’ S 3B base oil has virtually no aromatic content and no odor with a flash point well above 100 degrees Celsius, meeting FDA B requirements relating to the food packaging industry, the company says. The product was developed in response to customer demand for low-viscosity base oils for applications such as aerospace and low-temperature hydraulics. The oil can be used in applications where a high flash point and narrow boiling point ranges are important for safety and performance, such as aluminum cold rolling and thin sheet stamping.
