Nynas recently added a new base oil to its portfolio. Nynas S 3B is what the company calls a “highly refined” naphthenic base oil that meets FDA B requirements for use in the food packaging industry. It is designed for application in situations where high flash point and narrow boiling point ranges are important for safety as well as performance. The flash point of over 100 C combined with good solvency makes it useful in metal removal applications like grinding, honing and lapping.
