Food Grade Lubricants
Bechem has introduced Berulub WP 402 H1 grease for food grade applications. The grease can be used in roller bearings, as a sealer or on sliding surfaces. The company says that Berulub WP 402 has stable consistency and excellent media resistance, even under high loads. It also provides corrosion protection and emergency running properties. The company also offers Bechem Fluid W 68-3H spray for use as a release agent and lubricant for machine-operated knives and forms. The lubricant is NSF 3H certified for food contact. It is available in 400 milliliter tins.
Corrosion Control for Marine Engines
Castrol Marine has launched Cyltech CL 100 ACC cylinder oil for super long-stroke, two-stroke marine engines. The company says the oil prevents corrosion that can arise in these engines, especially when ships are slow steaming. Cyltech CL 100 ACC is a 100BN lubricant based on a new chemistry that is available to customers in major ports. ACC technology is said to contain innovative surface acting agents that protect cylinder liner surfaces more effectively and longer than previous generation lubricants.
Redesigned IoM Website
The Institute of Material has redesigned its website and has issued its 2013 Index of Oils. IoM purchases hundreds of engine oils from retail markets globally and performs performance bench tests according to ASTM test methods and lists the results in a database. Subscriptions to access the database are available in a variety of options.
Marine Additive Fights Acid
Chevron Oronite announced the global availability of its new Marine and Powergen System (MAPS) additive package. The company says the additive provides acid neutralization, deposit control and oxidation stability to marine and power generation engine oils. It can be used in both API Group I and II base oils, accommodates all current fuel types and sulfur ranges. MAPS, and is suitable for late generation engines and older engine types. MAPS additives are available globally through Oronites worldwide supply chain.
