Anti-friction Coating Cuts Noise

Etna Bechem Lubricants, Ltd. and its partner company Carl Bechem GmbH announced global specification approval from General Motors for Berucoat AK 978 anti-friction coating. Berucoat AK 978 is a water-based, synthetic dry film coating used to eliminate noise in automotive interiors and components. It is neutral to all common sealing materials, polymeric materials and non-ferrous metals.

The product dries to a clear, invisible, matte finish, leaving a durable, dry lubricating film that prevents stick-slip commonly associated with squeaking. AK 978 is formaldehyde free and contains an ultra violet indicator for detection purposes. Operating service temperature ranges from minus 40 degrees to 80 degrees C.

Monitoring Microorganisms in MWF

The QGO-M test kit from Aqua Tools monitors and controls the efficiency of biocides and fungicides in metalworking fluids. According to the company, using the QGO-M test kit makes it possible to quantify in only few minutes all the living microorganisms (yeasts, molds and bacteria) in any MWF. Then an appropriate treatment can be implemented quickly.

The kit also makes it possible to define the origin of microorganism growth and set up solutions.

Heavy-Duty Engine Oil Package

Chevron Oronite has introduced OLOA 61005 additive package for SAE 10W-40 and SAE 10W-30 semi-synthetic oil formulations for heavy-duty trucks. The company says that OLOA 61005 is formulated with Oronites latest-generation viscosity index improver and helps improve fuel economy.
