Lubrizol Buys Plant From Bankrupt SIP
May 7, 2003Lubrizol Corp. announced last week that it has acquired a Spartanburg, S.C., multi-purpose chemical production facility from bankrupt Specialty Industrial Products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The facility includes two plants covering 16 acres, where SIP has made specialty surfactants and emulsifiers used in lubricants and metalworking fluids, as well as the textile, personal care, food processing and pharmaceutical industries. Lubricants World Denies Reports of Closing
May 7, 2003The publisher of Lubricants World stated yesterday that recent reports of plans to fold the magazine are unfounded. Owned by Hart Publications, a subsidiary of investment bank Veronis Suhler Stevenson, Lubricants World is published monthly except for January and July and reportscirculation of 10,340. “We are committed to this industry and the success of this publication,” Publisher David Coates told Lube Report yesterday.
