Lubrizol Corp. on Monday outlined key company officer changes aimed at supporting continued growth, including promotions of Steve Kirk and Dan Sheets.

Steve Kirk, formerly corporate senior vice president and president of Lubrizols additives business segment, is now senior vice president and chief operating officer, in charge of both the additives and advanced materials businesses.

Larry Norwood was promoted to corporate vice president for operations, with responsibility for operations and infrastructure at both the additives and advanced materials business segments. Norwood, who joined Lubrizol in 1973, was previously vice president of operations for the additives business.

Bob Graf is now corporate vice president for research and development, responsible for both business segments. He was promoted from R&D vice president of the additives business.

Greg Lewis was promoted to corporate vice president for global risk management and chief ethics officer. Lewis will be responsible for loss prevention activities; health, safety, environment and security functions; and corporate ethics, for both business segments.

Dan Sheets, formerly vice president, sales, was promoted to corporate vice president and president of the additives segment. He replaces Kirk in the latter role.

Don Bogus, senior vice president for Lubrizol Corp., and president of the advanced materials business, will retire effective Jan. 2, 2009. The company promoted Eric Schnur to corporate vice president and president of the advanced materials business.

The changes are intended to support the companys business objectives, including driving organic growth, strengthening product portfolios and improving profitability. The newly appointed leaderships focus will include enhancing product innovations, managing enterprise risk and executing key bolt-on acquisitions that are complementary to existing product lines, the company said. No specific bolt-on acquisitions were named, however. We do not discuss our acquisitions candidates until a deal has been completed, Lubrizol spokeswoman Julie Young told Lube Report.
