Lubricants USA Moves Fina Brand to Pinnacle

Indianapolis-based Pinnacle Oil Inc. has reached an agreement to serve as upper Midwestern manufacturer for Lubricants USA, the exclusive marketer of Fina brand lubricants in the United States. Officials at Plano, Texas-based Lubricants USA said the company needed a new blender after its former partner, Bodie-Hoover Petroleum Corp., went out of business earlier this summer.

Lubricants USA is privately held but maintains a close relationship with the Paris-based oil company Total, which recently changed its name from TotalFinaElf. Lubricants USA officials say the company has marketed Fina products for nearly five decades. Other Total brands, including Total, Elf and Keystone, are handled by Total Lubricants USA, of Linden, N.J.

Lubricants USA said the arrangement with Pinnacle will expand its coverage area and allow it to offer the full range of Fina products. It plans to begin shipping packaged and bulk products from Pinnacle this month.
