Brazil’s National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers reported that due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brazil’s vehicle production declined to 729,500 for the first half of this year, down 50.5 percent from 2019’s first half. The association projects production of 1.6 million cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses for full year 2020, down 45 percent from 2019, and expects the sector’s production will not return to 2019 levels until 2025.
