Fuchs and KCF Partner on Equipment Failures

Fuchs has partnered with KCF Technologies to help manufacturers reduce downtime and operating costs by addressing lubrication-related failures in real time.

By linking lubrication solutions with digital monitoring, Fuchs, the world’s largest independent supplier of lubricants, and KCF want to expand the role of predictive maintenance in industrial operations, a trend gaining ground across manufacturing sectors. More than 60% of bearing failures stem from improper or inadequate lubrication, according to industry research.

The integration of Fuchs’ lubricants with KCF’s Machine Health Platform will allow customers to access diagnostics, remote vibration monitoring and customized lubrication recommendations through a single system. The companies said these recommendations will be validated to ensure they align with the needs of specific applications, enabling customers to move from reactive maintenance to predictive strategies.

“Historically, coordinating analysis of lubrication related failures put the onus entirely on the customer to coordinate between their reliability teams, lubrication experts and monitoring solution provider,” said Kevin Vincent, senior vice president of KCF Technologies, in a press release.

KCF Technologies, headquartered in State College, Pennsylvania, develops machine health technologies designed to improve industrial performance. Its portfolio includes vibration sensors, wireless monitoring systems and the SMARTdiagnostics platform for predictive maintenance.
