Kluber Lubrication announced Sept. 1 that it acquired TriboServ GmbH & Co. KG, a German company based in Geldersheim that develops automatic lubricators and customized lubrication systems. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Recent deals in the sector including Kluber’s 2020 purchase of wire-drawing lubricant specialist Traxit International illustrate the ongoing trend of consolidation, expanding product portfolios and enhancing service capabilities.

During the gradual integration of TriboServ into the Kluber Lubrication Group over the coming months, customers and partners of both companies will continue to receive existing products and services.

TriboServ was founded in 2008 and manufactures a range of automatic lubrication products including distributors, dosing systems and specialized applicators for chains, gearboxes, bearings and linear guides. Kluber Lubrication, founded in 1929 in Munich and now part of Freudenberg Chemical Specialities GmbH, employs about 2,500 people in more than 30 countries and produces specialty lubricants for nearly all industries worldwide.

Dr. Michael Weigand, founder of TriboServ, said the partnership with Kluber will allow the company to develop its technology and reach new markets.
