API Publishes Carbon Footprint Methodology

The American Petroleum Institute, a trade association that sets standards for the hydrocarbons industry, published a new methodology for lubricants life cycle assessment and product carbon footprint calculation. The group said its methodology gives companies in the industry a common way to measure sustainability of their products.

Valvoline Earnings Jump; Moove Suffers Loss

Valvoline reported double-digit gains in operating income and sales revenue for the quarter ended March 31, while Moove suffered a massive loss due to a one-time charge stemming from a recent court ruling. Meanwhile Perimeter Solutions reported a drop in net sales.

Etna Acquires JTM’s Metalworking Fluid Line

Chagrin Falls, Ohio-headquartered Etna Products Inc., which develops and produces lubricants for non-ferrous metal drawing and stamping operations, acquired Solon, Ohio-based JTM Products’ metalworking fluids line as part of its ongoing growth plans. Terms were not disclosed.

Azelis Americas on Tuesday announced it is opening three new application laboratories and a technical training center in Princeton, New Jersey, to service several markets, including lubricants and metalworking fluids.  Chevron Oronite announced that Brett Cooley will assume the role of vice president, manufacturing and supply, Chevron Chemicals, effective June 16. Cooley succeeds Mitra Basiri Kashanchi, who was previously announced as president, Chevron Chemicals, effective April 3.
