The United States base oil market is still waiting for information about the reopening of the Excel Paralubes plant in Westlake, Louisiana, after Hurricane Laura treated the industry with a relatively light touch last week.

New Grease Spec Coming to Market

The National Lubricating Grease Institute will publish details of its new High Performance Multiuse grease specification on its website within the next 30 days, NLGI Executive Director Crystal O’Halloran said during an online presentation on Aug. 28.

SS Distribuidora, a Vessa Group company, became an authorized lubricants distributor throughout the state of Espirito Santo, Brazil, for Petronas Lubrificantes Brasil.  Julie Edgar was named vice president, transportation, in the Lubrizol Additives business. She previously served as the company’s first chief sustainability officer. Elizabeth (Beth) Grove replaced Edgar as chief sustainability officer after previously serving as global director of sustainability and compliance for Lubrizol Life Science and as the company’s chief litigation counsel.
