The U.S. base oil market was quiet the past week, with many in the industry taking advantage of the Independence Day holiday for extra time off. Posted prices for paraffinic base oils were unchanged.The price of crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange closed yesterday at $59.77 per barrel, $1.47 higher than a week earlier.
