Nynas Naphthenics said it will soon open new offices in Moscow, Russia, and in Jakarta, Indonesia, markets where the company sees much potential for its naphthenic specialty oils.
In its latest Naphthenics magazine, Stockholm, Sweden-based Nynas announced Piotr Sokol will be general manager in Russia. Sokol formerly worked as general manager and sales manager in Poland. He started working in his new position back in September. Sokol said his goal is to get the new office up and running next year.
We want to increase our sales and service level in Russia, which we regard as a market with enormous potential, he added.
Nynas emphasized it also considers Indonesia a large and upcoming market, where it wants to strengthen its position and presence. Chian Yaw Toah, area sales manager for South East Asia, is responsible for Indonesia.
From simply having the help of an agent and a distribution point centered on Merak, Banten, in Indonesia, we now expect a Nynas sales office to be opened in Jakarta towards the end of this year or beginning of next year, he said. The recruitment of a general manager is in progress.
Nynas refinery in Nynashamn, Sweden, produces 7,800 barrels per day of naphthenic base oils. Nynas produces naphthenic oil for three main segments: insulating oil, mainly used to insulate and cool transformers; process oils, predominantly used in rubber, adhesives and printing ink; and base oils suitable for products such as metalworking fluids and other industrial lubricants.
