Biobased Metalworking Fluid

EcoLine metalworking fluid from Cortec is formulated with biobased base stock, additives and emulsifiers. The company says the fluid is a replacement for chlorinated products and hazardous mineral oils. The concentrate contains 70 percent biobased content and is formulated to work in soft and hard water. EcoLine resists bacterial growth and reportedly has excellent lubricity, antiwear and extreme pressure properties. It is supplied as a concentrate and requires mixing with water before use. Afton Chemical has launched HiTec 3435 ATF additive for use in continuously variable transmissions in a wide variety of vehicles. The company says the additive provides strong wear protection and high film strength to protect CVT components. Additive Protects Against Landfill Gases

Chevron Oronite announced that OLOA 46600 has been approved by General Electric Jenbacher for Type 2, 3, 4 and 6 engines operating on landfill gas (class C) or biogas (class B) using Group II base oil. OLOA 46600 is an additive developed specifically for engines operating in landfill, biomass, and digester gas operations on low-methane, high-moisture, corrosive gases. The company says the additive was tested for over 30,000 hours and reduced piston and combustion chamber deposits compared to traditional landfill gas engine oils. www.oronite.com
