Bactericide-Free Cutting Fluid

Henkel has developed bactericide-free cutting fluids to solve the problem of emulsions separating in use and the noxious odors that this can lead to. The patented emulsifier technology used in Multan 71-2 provides a microbiologically robust cutting fluid without the use of bactericides.

The emulsifier also does not require later additions of bactericides to keep it stable. Multan 71-2 is suitable for many different kinds of machining from roughing to grinding.

Crane Wheel Lube System

MicroPoly Europe says that its new lubricant system significantly reduces wear on the wheel flanges of overhead cranes, thereby saving time, money and lowering health and safety risks. The system consists of two MicroPoly arcs and a mounting system that makes use of existing axle bolts on each side of the crane. The mounting systems are custom made to fit each crane.

The system is lubricated with a mixture of polymers, oils and additives that creates a solid lubricant with an oil-filled, porous structure. The oil migrates by capillary action to the MicroPoly arc surface and is transferred to the flange wheels. The MicroPoly arc also acts as a sponge to reabsorb excess lubricant to prevent dripping.

Software Eases Stability Checks

Laboratories need to regularly check the stability of their products and raw materials over prolonged periods of time. To aid in this process, Two Fold Software Ltd. has added a stability trials module to its Version 1.1 release of Qualoupe LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) software. The software enables the user to create protocols for parameters such as sampling regimes, storage conditions, sampling frequency and time units.

In running a trial, the user selects the protocol that then creates the scheduled samples for the trial. Stability Trials software also enables the LIMS to provide prompts for sample pull schedules and the storage location. The company says that the software helps collate the data of all samples tested through the trial as well as providing a detailed reporting capability.
