Synthetic Oils for European Cars
Phillips 66 Lubricants has launched Shield Euro-Tech and Shield Euro-Tech+, full synthetic passenger car motor oils. The company says the oils meet or exceed the specifications of major European vehicle manufacturers, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Porsche. Shield Euro-Tech motor oil is a full-SAPS engine oil, recommended for use in gasoline engines that is approved for service fill under leading European OEM specifications. Shield Euro-Tech+ is a low-SAPS engine oil for diesel engines that is approved for service fill under leading European OEM specifications for extended drain applications.

Lukoil Getting Ready for Sulfur Cap
Russias Lukoil Marine Lubricants is preparing for the lower-sulfur future with the launch of Navigo MCL Extra, a 40 BN marine cylinder oil for distillate, ultra-low sulfur fuel oil and low sulfur heavy fuel oil applications, the company says. New Heavy-Duty Engine Oil Additive Package
Chevron Oronite has launched the OLOA 61011 additive package that the company says is suitable for heavy- and light-duty commercial vehicles that meet Euro V and Euro VI emissions requirements, as well as vehicles that pass EU stage IIIA, IIIB and IV, and US Tier 4 standards. The package is ready for the next generation of heavy-duty specifications, such as ACEA 2016, API CK-4 and VDS 4.5, says Teri Crosby, global product manager of automotive engine oils. OLOA 61011 comes in SAE 10W-40 and 10W-30 grades, both in low and high HTHS, and was developed with the Paratone enhanced olefin copolymer and formulated mostly with API Group II base oil. www.oronite.com
High-Temperature Ester
A new high-performance calcium sulfonate complex grease called Calsullence 542 HQS Green is on the market from Swedish grease manufacturer Axel Christiernsson. The company says application areas range from industrial to mining and off-road, since it has high resistance to shock loads, thermal differences and water ingress. It also exceeds the requirements of the NLGI GC-LB specification, the recognized benchmark for greases for auto wheels and chassis lubrication. This heavy-duty grease contains an optimized semisythetic base oil blend that improves grease mobility at low temperatures whilst improving thermal and oxidative stability at elevated temperatures.www.axelch.com
Cooling, Cleaning, Saving
Henkel has introduced Bonderite duaLCys system that simultaneously lubricates, cools and cleans workpieces. Henkel says it provides cost reductions by recycling the no-foam cleaner 100 percent back into the cooling lubricant, rather than disposing of it as waste. The results are high lubrication performance, superior purity of the parts and excellent corrosion protection, according to a Henkel press statement. The company recommends using the system in combination with Dosiertechniks Dosatron proportional dosing pump and can be used with steel, stainless steel, cast iron and aluminum alloys. www.henkel.com
Easy Ferrous Particle Detection
FerroCheck 2100 by instrument company from Spectro Scientific meausres the ferrous content in oil and grease. FerroCheck can measure the presence of small and large ferrous particles up to 1 percent in oil and 15 percent in grease using magnetic coils to with a 4 percent relative standard deviation and with high stability performance across a range of ambient temperatures. The device is also battery powered, allowing operators to detect abnormal oil conditions and monitor wear particle concentration on site, providing better maintenance diagnostics not only for large static machinery but also in the pit lane, since results can be determined after 30 seconds. The company says it is ideal for gearboxes, transmissions, engines, compressors and hydraulic systems. FerroCheck is also compliant with the ASTM D8120 Standard Test Method for Ferrous Debris Quantification.
