Specialty lubricants manufacturer Metalube recently completed an expansion to its factory in Manchester, United Kingdom, which will increase its capacity to make metalworking fluids.
The expansion includes 2,500 square meters of factory, warehouse, office space and a research laboratory. Two blending tanks were installed to keep up with growing demand, said the company in a press release.

Metalubes core business is production of lubricants used in the drawing of non-ferrous wire and metal tubes. Recently, the manufacturer introduced fluids for applications such as ferrous tube forming and ferrous and non-ferrous metal forming, along with corrosion preventatives, high-temperature chain oils and wire rope lubricants, a spokeswoman told Lube Report. Although there has been some increase in demand for our core product range, the major increases are for our new products.
We are seeing a significant increase in sales from Southeast Asia and Indian sub-continent regions, she added. Moreover, Metalube has recently launched operations in the U.S. and is expecting that market to provide a further increase in sales over the short to medium term, she said.
The spokeswoman would not disclose the current production capacity for Metalube, but mentioned that our recent increase of capacity has added a further 20 percent to our production capability, and we are planning further increases during the course of 2016 to allow us to keep pace with demand.
U.K.-based Metalube was established in 1989 by Managing Director David Lee. Headquartered in Manchester, the company exports to over 80 countries, and has regional offices in Brazil, China, India and the United Arab Emirates.
