Baldwin Filters plans to break ground this spring on a new 400,000 square foot distribution center at its headquarters location in Nebraska.
The company, which produces more than 650 lube filters for heavy-duty and automotive applications, said operations in its current 110,000 square foot distribution center, built in 1998, have exceeded capacity.
The primary use of the expansion will be to improve distribution operations, consolidate off-site rental space and reorganize the current facility to improve manufacturing operations, said Sam Ferrise, president of Baldwin Filters. This is a very large undertaking and represents a substantial, $40 million investment for Baldwin Filters. Baldwin has continued to grow in our domestic and international markets, driving the need for this expansion.
With the expansion, Baldwin Filters corporate headquarters will encompass nearly one million square feet. The company also has manufacturing operations in Gothenberg, Neb., and Yankton, S.D.
In addition to lube filters, the company produces hydraulic, coolant, transmission, air and fuel filtration products.
