Indonesias state-owned Pertamina Lubricants said it hopes its cross-promotional campaign with national airline Garuda Indonesia will result in greater awareness of its lube brands.

This cooperation is a form of synergy among state-owned enterprises, said Abdul Hafid Rasjid, a Pertamina sales manager, in a recent press release. The campaign used an Indonesian slogan that translates to Fly with Garuda Indonesia, Get Oil from Pertamina.

The program started in the middle of March and will end this month. Customers who purchased a Garuda airline ticket were entered into a drawing for prizes that included Pertamina Lubricants Fastron and Enduro series of lubricants redeemable at authorized outlets.

Pertamina aimed to create brand awareness through the joint promotion, Hafid said, noting that if the response is positive, the company will consider similar promotions. Pertaminas current lubricant sales are made up of 70 percent industrial business and 30 percent automotive, according to the press release.

The two companies first announced that they had signed a Head of Agreement for joint promotions and further cooperation last November.
