Meridian Adhesives Group acquired Pacific Adhesive Systems, a Malaysia-based corporation with lubricant and grease operations, Meridian announced last week.
Among other products, Pacific makes lubricants and greases for electronic components for Electrolube, based in the United Kingdom. Pacific has distributed some of Meridian’s products in the Asian market for more than 15 years, according to a press release issued on April 1.
Pacific, established in 2004, says on its website that its contact lubricants combine electrical properties and lubricity with plastics compatibility. Applications for these kinds of lubricants include extending the operating life of switches, improving signal quality, reducing operating temperature and preventing contamination, the company says.
The Malaysian manufacturer also produces a range of products, including adhesives, sealants and cleaning chemicals for such companies as Dow and 3M.
Pacific, which has operations in Malaysia, Thailand. China and Hong Kong, will join Meridian’s electronics division, which is composed of a number of companies that manufacture adhesives, silicones and epoxies, among other products.
Neither Meridian, based in Dalton, Georgia, nor Pacific could be reached for comment by deadline.
